Charity Brands CEO Stephen M. Adler's New book - Cause For Concern - August, 2006
In his just published new book, Charity Brands CEO Stephen M. Adler gives a look at one of the most inventive minds in the industry, and recounts his experiences developing some of the world’s most-recognized non-profit/corporate programs and sponsorships, providing a background and analysis of programs developed by others in cause-related marketing, a market segment that will grow to $1.34 billion in 2006, a 20.2% increase over 2005.

In Cause for Concern, Mr. Adler expertly describes how cause marketing works, why it makes sense for businesses, and how corporations are able to profit by supporting non-profit organizations in certain ways. He also describes how non-profit organizations can become more inventive in adapting their programs to meet sponsors’ needs and expectations while enhancing their own reach and credibility.

Pharma Companies’ Katrina Donations Top $100 Million - September 20, 2005
America's pharmaceutical research companies have stepped up relief efforts in the devastated Gulf region with product and cash donations surpassing the $100 million mark. Product contributions range from insulins and antibiotics to infant formulas and personal care kits.

Since Hurricane Katrina struck Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama, pharmaceutical industry donations of medical supplies, medicines and cash to public and private relief organizations, including AmeriCares, the American Red Cross and the Louisiana Disaster Recovery Foundation have increased sharply from an initial immediate contribution of about $25 million.

Donations are being made by the companies without regard for recognition, however the beneficiary organizations would be well-advised to appropriately thank the members of the pharmaceutical industry, and perhaps afford some marketing courtesies to help attract ongoing support.
